Status Definitions

Status	Consequences	Restrictions
Draft	Any team member can create a task as draft Task can be saved without duration and any assignee	No time can be logged to the task
Ready to post	Task has duration and owner set and is ready to post to the schedule	No time can be logged to the task
Scheduled	Transition to this status is allowed to an owner as defined in the project owner permissions settings Task is visible on the schedule Early start is set to project start date
Time logged	This status is automatically updated by PC once the first time log has been approved
Started	Transition to this status is allowed to an owner as defined in the project owner permissions settings A date is required to confirm the start of the task and by default it is the early start A constraint to start on the start date is applied to the task	Constraints can no longer be changed for this task
Ready to finish	Transition to this status is allowed to an owner as defined in the project owner permissions settings Owner who has the permission to finish a task do not transition to this one	Task details cannot be changed Only the status can be changed
Finished	Transition to this status is allowed to an owner as defined in the project owner permissions settings	Task details cannot be changed Only the status can be changed

Open	Context details can be modified by the Context Owner and Project Owner Issues can be added to the context
Closed	Means context has been resolved Transition to this status is allowed only if all issues and action items related to it are either closed or abandoned	Context details cannot be changed No issues can be added or reopened Only the status can be changed
Abandoned	Means context will not be worked on Transition to this status is allowed only if all issues and action items related to it are either closed or abandoned	Context details cannot be changed No issues can be added or reopened Only the status can be changed

In progress	Means work has started
Ready to close	Means work is completed, and this issue/action item is flagged as being ready to close For an issue, transition to this status is allowed if all action items related to it are either closed or abandoned, and the user does not have the right to close	Issue/Action item details cannot be changed For issues, this means no action items can be added or reopened Only the status can be changed
Closed	Means issue/action item has been resolved For an issue, transition to this status is allowed if all action items related to it are either closed or abandoned	Issue/Action item details cannot be changed For issues, this means no action items can be added or reopened Only the status can be changed
Abandoned	Means issue/action will not be worked on For an issue, transition to this status is allowed if all action items related to it are either closed or abandoned	Issue/Action item details cannot be changed For issues, this means no action items can be added or reopened Only the status can be changed
